Although Jason was born in land locked Kansas, he was always interested in the sea. Photography has been one of his passions since he was a teenager. Prior to his interest in underwater photography, he focused on landscapes and people for his subjects. Then he became a certified diver.

Naturally, the camera has become an essential part of his dive equipment as he travels throughout the Caribbean. He has traveled to such places as Grand Cayman, St. Croix, Cozumel, Bahamas, Florida Keys, Hawaii, Roatan and Cayos Cochinos (Hog Islands). Closer to home, he has dove in the lakes of upstate New York including historic shipwrecks in Lake George. He has also ventured into the cold waters off the New England coast.

He has been capturing the underwater world on film since 1991. His photographs appeal to those who have a strong love for the sea and the life it contains.

He also enjoys other outdoor interests that include camping, boating, and water-skiing.

He lives with his wife, Carolyne, in Upsate NY.
